Since its establishment in 2016, HP Malaysia Manufacturing (HPMM) has grown into a world-class manufacturing site employing 1,200 highly skilled Malaysian professionals. HPMM plays a critical role in HP’s global manufacturing ecosystem, producing and supplying inkjet cartridges to 175 countries worldwide, and is recognised as one of the world’s largest manufacturers of Micro Electrical Mechanical System (MEMS).

Driving Manufacturing Excellence with 4IR Technologies

In January 2025, HPMM will inaugurate the HP Malaysia Manufacturing Transformation Center, a 4,639-square-foot facility focused on advancing Industry 4.0 and exploring early Industry 5.0 technologies. The center will research robotics, automation, IoT, additive manufacturing, and predictive analytics to develop a highly digitized and efficient manufacturing ecosystem. This initiative reinforces HP’s leadership in advanced manufacturing, enhancing productivity, quality, and sustainability while addressing the evolving needs of the global print supplies market.
Empowering Malaysia’s Manufacturing Vision
HP’s innovation-focused manufacturing strategy supports Malaysia’s industrial growth vision. Through the 2024 HP SPARK Programme, HP collaborates with the Malaysian government and educational institutions to develop a skilled workforce for advanced manufacturing. The program emphasizes training in robotics, automation, data analytics, and sustainable practices, enabling HPMM employees to excel in the rapidly evolving manufacturing sector.
Leading Sustainability in Manufacturing
HP is deeply committed to sustainability, reflecting its efforts with Malaysia’s Roadmap Towards Zero Single-Use Plastics 2018–2030 and other government policies promoting environmental stewardship. This alignment is reinforced by HP’s Global Sustainability Goals, which include achieving carbon neutrality, zero waste operations, and 75% reduction of single-use plastics by 2025.
Key contributions from HPMM:
The HPMM facility is equipped with a solar photovoltaic array, rooftops and parking areas installation that reduce GHG emissions. The installation is expected to generate 2,720 MWh annually, covering approximately 6% of the facility's electricity usage.
HPMM has established a Zero Waste Operations Team, which has successfully diverted approximately 35,000 kg of waste from landfills annually.
HPMM achieved a Platinum-level score in the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Validated Assessment Program (VAP) audit, reflecting its adherence to high standards in labour practices, health and safety, and environmental compliance.
