When it comes to smartphones these days, everyone says their camera is “flagship level.” But mostly, it's still just snapping here and there. Nothing biggie. But when it comes to the HONOR 400 Pro, it does live up to the flagship title. It’s not just the impressive hardware that caught my attention, but the amount of fun and creativity I had thanks to its AI features. If you love snapping photos, sharing Insta-worthy moments, and unleashing your creativity on your fingertips, this phone might just spoil you.

Flagship Camera Setup That Goes Beyond Just Specs
Let’s start with the numbers, because they’re pretty wild. The HONOR 400 Pro packs a 200MP main camera that comes with both OIS and EIS, paired with a large 1/1.4-inch super sensor and honestly, it’s even comparable with some of the “big name” flagship phones. You also get a 50MP telephoto lens with OIS + EIS and up to 50x zoom, which is great for capturing faraway subjects without losing too much detail. For those scenic wide shots or close-up macro moments, there’s a 12MP ultra-wide and macro combo camera that handles both surprisingly well. And up front, the 50MP selfie camera delivers super sharp and natural-looking portraits, enhanced by HONOR’s smart portrait algorithm that nails the balance between clarity and subtle beautification.

I immediately snapped a few shots right after unboxing the HONOR 400 Pro, and honestly, the results were pretty solid straight out of the gate. The main camera captured a lot of detail with surprisingly good sharpness and colour balance, even without any fancy settings turned on.
The telephoto lens also held up well, delivering clear zoom shots that didn’t fall apart when I cropped in a bit.
From left to right: 1x, 2x, 3x
These were just quick, casual test shots I did on the spot, but so far, the image quality looks really promising. I’ll definitely be testing it further in different scenes and lighting conditions in the full review, so stay tuned for that.
More Than Just Photos, It’s a Creative Playground
What really sets the HONOR 400 Pro apart is how AI becomes your personal editor. I didn’t need to download five different apps to do stuff like remove photobombers, change clothes, or spice up my pics with effects. Everything’s already built-in.
One of the most impressive and talked-about features on the HONOR 400 Pro is the industry first AI Image to Video. This feature lets you turn any static image into a short, 5-second video in MP4 format. And it's not just about adding random movement; the AI intelligently analyses the subjects in your photo, be it people, pets, objects, or even landscapes, and generates subtle yet realistic motions to bring the moment to life. The results are different every time so you can always regenerate to get the best version.
I tested it with a few different photos, one straight from the camera, one with image I downloaded from the internet, and one that I edited with the other AI features. You can see how the actions are being animated naturally with just the right amount of motion to make it looks as realistic as possible. It’s a small clip, but with the combination of other AI tools, it allows you to unleash your creativity.
As mentioned, the HONOR 400 Pro also comes packed with a whole suite of smart AI tools that make photo editing both simple and surprisingly powerful, all without needing third-party apps.
AI Eraser 2.0 lets you remove photobombers, reflections, watermarks, and even change clothing style or erase unwanted background elements with a single tap. It also recognises the main subject automatically, so your edits stay clean and natural.
AI Cutout allows you to select and reposition subjects in a photo or remove the background entirely. You can also swap in a new background, apply a transparent cut, or replace it with solid colour—great for everything from creative edits to quick poster designs.

AI Outpainting expands your image beyond its original frame by intelligently generating new visual elements around the photo. It’s useful when you want to convert a tight crop into a wider, more immersive scene.
AI Upscale improves the quality of old or low-resolution photos by enhancing clarity and detail. It's especially handy for reviving older family pictures or improving saved images from social media.
Together, these AI tools make the HONOR 400 Pro feel less like a phone and more like a pocket-sized creative studio. It’s perfect for commemorating special occasions or just adding a fresh spin to your favourite memories before sharing them on social media.
Thoughts
The HONOR 400 Pro isn’t just about chasing megapixels, it’s about making photography more fun, more meaningful, and easier than ever. Whether you're a casual user, a budding content creator, or just someone who loves experimenting with photo edits, this phone delivers on both quality and creativity. It’s rare to find a phone that makes you want to take more photos, not just because they look good, but because you know you can do so much more with them after.

TLDR – What's so good about the imaging system:
Flagship-level camera performance
AI Image to Video is honestly a next-gen touch
No extra apps needed – all edit tools are built-in and intuitive
AI features actually make editing fun and not a chore
If you’re looking for a phone that’s both a powerhouse and a creative playground, the HONOR 400 Pro is easily one of the most exciting options right now. Don’t just take photos, bring them to life.
