Here are the Latest Nintendo Direct Announcements
The latest Nintendo Direct was held recently and offered 50 minutes of announcements. We’ve listed all of them (aside from reminders about previously-made reveals and announcements) below.

Pyra and Mythra Join Smash
Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s Pyra and Mythra are the newest additions to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a two-in-one sort of deal, with players being able to swap between the two. Pyra gets abilities like Smash Flare, Flame Nova, Prominence Revolt, and Blazing End, while Mythra shows off Lightning Buster, Photon Edge, Ray of Punishment, Chroma Dust, and Foresight. They’ll be arriving in March.
Fall Guys Coming to Switch In Summer
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is coming to Switch in the summer, allowing players to enjoy the party game away from their PCs and PS4s/PS5s.
Outer Wilds Heading to Switch In Summer
The critically-acclaimed 2019 game about exploring a universe doomed to explode every 22 minutes will arrive on Switch in the summer.
Famicom Detective Club Remakes Arriving in May
Originally released in the 80s, Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind will be playable on Switch in remake form with English localization. The games will be released as separate products on May 14 and can already be pre-ordered.
Samurai Warriors 5 Announced
The latest instalment in the Samurai Warriors series will bring over-the-top hack-and-slash action to the Switch (and also Steam, PS4, Xbox One) in the summer. The Koei Tecmo America Twitter tweets that the game will be a “fresh, re-imagining of the franchise”. Monthly livestreams will kick on on February 25, with the release date to be announced on that date as well.
Legend of Mana Remaster Announced
The remaster of the 1999 Legend of Mana JRPG will arrive on Switch on June 24. It’ll also be on PS4 and Steam.
Monster Hunter Rise – Rampage trailer
A new trailer for the upcoming Switch-exclusive Monster Hunter Rise was released, detailing an event called the Rampage and showing off an Apex monster. Also revealed were battles involving multiple monsters and manned weapons like cannons and ballistas.
Mario Golf: Super Rush Announced
Mario Golf: Super Rush was announced, marking the series’ return to home consoles after a long stint on handhelds. The game will be released on June 25, with pre-orders available.
More ports coming to Nintendo Switch
A few more ports were announced, including the recently relaunched Tales from the Borderlands (March 24), Capcom Arcade Stadium (available now), Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel without a Pulse (March 16), and Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition (March 19).
No More Heroes 3 Release Date Trailer
Previously announced as a Switch exclusive, No More Heroes 3 will drop in August 27.
Neon White Revealed
A fast-paced first-person action game that’s also coming to PC, Neon White follows an assassin who's sent from Hell to Heaven to kill demons. Instead of regular weapons, he uses Soul Cards to perform the demon slaying.
DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power Announced
Set to release in June 4, DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power features super heroines like Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Batgirl, and includes daily life segments in addition to action.
Miitopia is an RPG that makes use of Mii characters. It releases on May 21 and can be pre-ordered now.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Super Mario collaboration
Super Mario collaboration items are coming to the life simulator. (Aren't they adorable?)
Project Triangle Strategy Announced
The latest in Square Enix’s HD 2D series, Project Triangle Strategy (the game's working title) is a new tactical RPG that will be released in 2022. A demo is avalaible.
Star Wars Hunters Announced
No gameplay was shown with the trailer, but Star Wars Hunters is described as a “squad-based, free-to-play arena combat game”. It’ll launch this year.
Knockout City Announced
A multiplayer game with cross-play, Knockout City offers amped up dodgeball matches in a futuristic setting. Aside from the Switch, the game will be on Origin, Steam, PS4, and Xbox One.
World’s End Club Announced
A side-scrolling game with a suspense story, made by the creators of Danganronpa and Zero Escape. To be released May 28.
Hades Physical Version Announced
The roguelike dungeon crawler is getting a much-deserved physical version for Switch on March 19.
Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection Announced
A bundle that features NINJA GAIDEN Sigma, NINJA GAIDEN Sigma 2, and NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge. It’ll be released on June 10, and will also be available on PS4, Xbox One, and Steam.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – Expansion Pass Announcement
The Breath of the Wild prequel/spin-off is getting an Expansion Pass with new characters, stages, and more later this year.
Bravely Default II Final Trailer
Released after the presentation was the final trailer for Bravely Default II, which is releasing on February 26.
Apex Legends Double XP Event and Exclusive Skin Announcement
We already knew that Apex Legends was coming to the Switch on March 9, but we now get to see a glimpse of some gameplay. The trailer also announced a Double XP period for the first two weeks after launch for Switch players as well as an exclusive Legendary Pathfinder skin and 30 free levels for the current Season 8 Mayhem battle pass.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD – Announcement
A HD version of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will arrive on Switch on July 16, with pre-orders available. The gameplay will make use of the Joy-Con controllers, although newly added button-only controls also available as an alternative control scheme. Themed Joy-Cons for the game will be released as well.
Splatoon 3 Revealed
The Splatoon series is returning with its third instalment. The new game is set in the city of Splatsville, which is located in the “sun scorched” Splatlands, and will introduce new weapons, moves, and more. Splatoon 3 will be released in 2022.
