GIGABYTE Announces G5 Laptops with RTX 3060

GIGABYTE has announced its new RTX 3060-armed G5 gaming laptops, which are part of its new GIGABYTE GAMING line.

The G5 laptops are equipped with 10th gen Intel processors, with one variant having an Intel Core 7-10870H while the other has an Intel Core i5-10500H. They feature a 15.6” Thin Bezel FHD IPS display with anti-glare, 72% NTSC, and a 240Hz refresh rate.

The laptops support up to 64GB of RAM via two DDR4 slots and up to 6TB of storage via one HDD/SSD slot, one M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD slot, and one M.2 SATA/NVMe PCIe SSD slot. Ports include a USB 2.0 Type-A, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, a HDMI 2.0, a mini DP 1.4, and a DisplayPort 1.4 Type-C over USB 3.2 Gen 2 port.

As mentioned earlier, the G5 laptops are equipped with an RTX 3060, which differs from the desktop version by having 6GB of VRAM and 105W of graphics card power instead of 12GB and 170W respectively. The laptops also sport a detachable battery.

The i5 variant of the G5 has an attractive suggested starting price of RM4,699, which makes my similarly-costed GTX1650 laptop feel extremely sad and insecure, while the i7 variant has a suggested starting price of RM5,699. The laptop is currently available across "across all sales channels" including GIGABYTE's Shopee page.
