The 2016 Hitman reboot and the Shadowrun Collection can be grabbed for free at Epic Games Store now, as part of this week’s freebies.
Hitman is the game for you if you’re into plotting assassinations and exploring sandbox levels while hiding in the open. Although it lacks some of the personality of 2006’s Hitman: Blood Money, it was still a great return to form after 2012’s mediocre Hitman: Absolution. A second sequel, Hitman 3, is coming out in 2021.
Meanwhile, the Shadowrun games are a series of RPGs with turn-based combat, both in the real world and in the virtual world, that’s a bit XCOM-like. It’s based on a tabletop RPG that depicts a setting where cyberpunk elements co-exist with fantasy stuff like dragons and magic. The first game, Shadowrun Returns, is enjoyable, but the standalone expansions Dragonfall and Hong Kong feature more memorable settings and have fixed party members that can be upgraded.
To grab the games, head over here for Hitman and here for the Shadowrun Collection. They'll be available for free until 3 September 2020, so make sure to grab them soon.
