Genshin Impact Launches Nod-Krai in Its Major Annual Update Today!

Genshin Impact has rolled out its annual update, Version Luna I: “A Dance of Snowy Tides and Hoarfrost Groves.” The expansion introduces Nod-Krai, Teyvat’s seventh region, along with new characters, storylines, and features that enhance exploration. Marking the game’s fifth anniversary, players can also look forward to special rewards, community events, and a new HoYoFair Fan Art Special Program.

After completing Liyue’s main questline, players can dive into the new Archon Quest in Nod-Krai, where rising conflict unfolds under the rule of the Fatui Harbinger “Marionette” and a scheme to harness the moon’s power emerges. Along the way, they’ll join forces with Lauma of the Frostmoon Scions, battle alongside Flins against the Wild Hunt, and reunite with familiar faces like Dori, Nefer, and Jahoda in Nasha Town. The story also introduces Columbina, who has left the Fatui to return home, now honored in Nod-Krai as the Moon Maiden.

Three new characters from Nod-Krai will join the playable roster, some capable of triggering special Lunar Reactions. Lauma, the Moonchanter and a 5-star Catalyst wielder, introduces the new Lunar-Bloom Reaction with her Dendro powers. Flins, a 5-star Polearm wielder, channels Electro into powerful Lunar-Charged strikes. Aino, a 4-star Claymore wielder, can be recruited for free by progressing through the new Archon Quest. In Version Luna I, the first half of the Event Wishes will feature Lauma alongside Nahida's rerun, together with a Sumeru-themed Chronicled Wish. The second half brings Flins, Aino, and Yelan's rerun.

Version Luna I adds fresh features that strengthen the bond between characters, story, and exploration in Teyvat. Each new hero offers unique interactions tied to their skills and background — Lauma’s link with nature lets animals aid the party, while Flins uses his lantern to detect the Wild Hunt and interpret their whispers. Aino, the inventor of the “Knuckle Duckle,” provides special interactions with the massive construct. A new “Meeting Points” system also lets players witness everyday moments between companions, from Lauma and Flins recounting ancient legends to heartfelt exchanges between Ineffa and Aino, bringing a more personal touch to the adventure.

To celebrate both Version Luna I and Genshin Impact's fifth anniversary, players can enjoy a bounty of special rewards. They can claim a free 5-star character from the Standard Wish, along with the ascension materials required to level the character up to Lv. 60. Players can also log in to receive Intertwined Fate ×10, Primogems ×1,600, two special Nod-Krai-themed gadgets via in-game mail, and more.

HoYoFair will celebrate Genshin Impact’s anniversary with the return of the Fan Art Special Program, “Parallels Meet,” a two-hour showcase of fan-made videos premiering on September 20 at 20:00 (UTC+8) across YouTube, X, Instagram, and TikTok. Featuring over 15 animated shorts and musical pieces, the program highlights five years of creativity and community. Fans can look forward to sequels to popular works and fresh creations, including the finale of dillongoo’s Cyberpunk Anime: Progenitor, a new chapter of No_Tables’s Elemental Warfare, and Subutai’s Shadows in the Sands exploring Natlan’s past. The event also features KIERU’s latest short, a new K-pop–inspired episode, and debut appearances from singer ReoNa with the theme song and Japanese voice actors of Varesa, Kokomi, Amber, Kirara, and Layla in a special girl band animation.

On September 10, 2025, Genshin Impact launched Version Luna I, ushering in a new chapter of adventure in Nod-Krai. With cross-progression and Co-Op functions, players can enjoy their adventure across PlayStation®, Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS.
