Garmin has recently launched a pair of new smart watches in the form of the Garmin Venu 2 and Venu 2S, as per a report by Ars Technica.
The Venu 2 has a 45mm case size, while the Venu 2S has a 40mm case size. Both feature an AMOLED display and CorningĀ® Gorilla Glass 3, along with a stainless steel bezel and silicone band. They have a 5 ATM water rating and boast 19 hours of battery life in GPS mode (or seven with music) and 10 days battery life in smartwatch mode. Garmin says that 10 minutes of charging āadds up to 1 day of smartwatch mode battery life or 1 hour of GPS with music battery lifeā. Settings can be adjusted to increase battery life as well.
The Venu 2 and Venu 2S have a Health Snapshot feature that records stats like heart rate, respiration, and stress in a two-minute session and, if you have a compatible phone, generates a report with the Garmin Connect app. For sleep, the watches can track sleep stages and elements like heart rate and stress and also provide scores on sleep quality and insights for better sleeping.
For other monitoring features, the watches have Body Battery Energy monitoring, wrist-based heart rate sampling, a Pulse Ox sensor for checking blood oxygen saturation, and tracking for stress, womenās health, hydration, and respiration. They can also track stress and respiration when carrying out a breathwork activity and āestimate if your body is younger or older than you are via āchronological age, your weekly vigorous activity, resting heart rate and BMI or body fat percentageā. The watches will provide tips for lowering fitness age as well.
The Venu 2 and Venu 2S come with workouts for cardio, strength, yoga, Pilates, and high-intensity interval training, as well as over 25 GPS and indoor sports apps like walking, cycling, and golf. They also have activity profiles like advanced strength training and HIIT workouts, and allow for workout creation by choosing form exercises in Garmin Connect. Additionally, the watches have Garmin Coach and an updated intensity minutes.
Elsewhere, the Venu 2 and Venu 2S offer smart notifications and safety and tracking features, with the latter having built-in incident detection and the ability to manually send your live location to contacts when paired with your phone.
The watches are available at a price of US$399.99, or roughly RM1,643.
