[Games Around the Corner] Week 40, 2021 - Fighting and Shooting

This week, we'll be revisiting our memory lane with some Nickelodeon characters that we've grown up with on Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Also, there are a couple of interesting titles for FPS fans, with one taking players on a battle between the Western and Eastern Fronts of World War II and the other pitting players against a vicious leader in an open world with animal companions and strange weapons.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Developed by Ludosity and Fair Play Labs, it is a crossover fighting game with similar gameplay to Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series. The game features iconic characters from the Nickelodeon universe such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, Danny Phantom, Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and April O'Neil from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and more.

The game will see players battling on 20 different Nickelodeon-themed stages where players must knock opponents out of the ring. It also has a "Sports Ball" mode where players must knock a ball into an opponent's goal. Players can choose to either play alone or join 3 other friends in both local and online multiplayer modes.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Steam on 5 October.

Hell Let Loose

"You've never played World War 2 the way it was meant to be played... with lumbering tanks dominating the battlefield, crucial supply chains fueling the frontlines, being a cog in the machine of colossal combined arms warfare. Hell Let Loose puts you in the chaos of war, complete with deep player-controlled vehicles, a dynamically evolving frontline, and crucial platoon-focused gameplay that commands the tide of battle. This is a simulation of war... not an arcade arena shooter," the game description reads.

Set during World War II, Hell Let Loose takes up to 100 players divided into two teams of Germans and Americans on a 50-vs-50 battlefield. Players can choose from 14 playable roles to join each battle, ranging from Officer, Scout, Machine Gunner, Medic, Engineer, Tank Commander, and more.

Hell Let Loose will make its PS5 and Xbox Series X/S debut on 5 October.

Far Cry 6

The sixth installment of the Far Cry series is set on Yara, a fictional Caribbean island ruled by a dictator, "El Presidente" Antón Castillo, who raised his son Diego to follow in his footsteps. Players will assume the role of Dani Rojas, a former soldier in the Yaran armed forces, to bring down Castillo and his regime.

On a side note, Far Cry 6 has teamed up with CORSAIR to deliver an immersive gaming experience by integrating in-game RGB lighting to all iCUE RGB devices. The integration will be available on the same day of the game launch.

Far Cry 6 will be released on Epic Games Store, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on 7 October.
