Today, Garena announced that the Free Fire World Series 2022 (FFWS 2022) will be held in May 2022, with the play-ins scheduled on 14 May and the Finals on 21 May. The FFWS 2022 is the 3rd edition of the title's most anticipated global tournament. Qualifiers for the tournament will take place across several regions in the coming months.
According to Esports Charts, the finals of the FFWS 2021 in Singapore hit 5.4 million peak concurrent online viewers, marking it the highest peak viewership of any esports match in history, excluding Chinese platforms. Thailand's Team Phoneix Force was crowned the FFWS 2021 SG champion after Team Corinthians from Brazil won the series in 2019.
