Full-service developer and publisher Double Eleven has launched its first original intellectual property (IP), Blindfire, an online multiplayer first-person shooter that plunges players into darkness. Following its reveal in the latest Xbox Partner Preview, Blindfire is now available for MYR24.50 on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), with a PlayStation 5 version arriving later this year.
This milestone follows a successful year for Double Eleven, which relocated to a new headquarters in March to support its continued growth, with the team now reaching 440 employees. Over the past year, the company played a key role in helping several prestigious partners bring their popular games to additional platforms, while also developing fresh content for live titles across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox devices. Now, the studio is proud to share its first entirely original game with the world, developed collaboratively by teams in both the UK and Malaysia. Known for its expertise in co-development, Double Eleven has long aspired to create its own IP, providing the team a platform to fully showcase its creativity.
Mark South, COO of Double Eleven, said
The release of Blindfire is a proud moment for us at Double Eleven. While we've built a strong reputation through publishing and co-development with other studios, expanding existing titles, and bringing beloved games to new platforms, Blindfire represents something truly our own — a reflection of the creativity, talent, and ambition within our team across all of our projects. After many years creating new content for games like Minecraft Dungeons, Prison Architect, and Fallout 76, it’s a natural extension of the work we’ve been doing — bringing fresh ideas to life with the same care and expertise we apply to everything we do.
Blindfire offers a fresh take on the arena shooter genre by immersing players in pitch-black battlefields where stealth, sound, and strategy are key for survival. Players must rely on their senses and careful tactics to outwit opponents, as each shot fired risks revealing their position. With dynamic, trap-filled arenas, tense combat, and a striking neon-soaked, blacklight-infused art style, Blindfire delivers a high-stakes, adrenaline-charged experience that sets it apart from traditional shooters. Currently in early access, the game will continue to evolve with regular updates introducing new weapons, abilities, and features, all shaped by feedback from the community.
As part of its ongoing support for the local gaming community, Double Eleven is proud to be the headline sponsor of Animex 2024, an international festival of animation, games, and VFX hosted by Teesside University. Those interested in the studio’s placement programs and career opportunities are invited to meet the team in person at the Animex marketplace on Wednesday, 13 November 2024.
In December 2024, Double Eleven will celebrate its 15th anniversary, marking a decade and a half of growth, creativity, and collaboration. Stay tuned for updates on anniversary events and activities.
