You've heard right, Dark and Darker developer Ironmace Games has made the game available to be downloaded via torrent on their official Discord as a promise for playtest #5 after facing copyright claims from Nexon which was enough to get Dark and Darker booted off Steam.
Besides that, Ironmace also warned players not to get torrents "from any other sources, as we can not guarantee the integrity of any other links" They will be releasing patch notes and fixes on the official Discord announcement channel.
