[CES2023] Acer boosts its new Nitro & Predator Laptops with 13th Gen Intel CPU & RTX 40 series GPUs

Along with the new Predator gaming monitor this time!

Acer has announced its new Nitro and Predator gaming laptop line, both gaming laptops will be getting a significant upgrade with the latest 13th Gen Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptop GPUs.


The Acer Nitro series is ideal for casual gamers who are ready for enhanced gameplay. The new 16-inch and 17-inch Nitro gaming laptops are now more compact, thinner, and lighter form factors with higher screen-to-body ratio, offering users to experience a new level of gaming.


The new Nitro 16 (AN16-51) now comes with a 5% larger screen area than its predecessor and features an upgraded 16-inch WUXGA or WQXGA display with a 165Hz refresh rate that supports NVIDIA Advanced Optimus. It also comes with a 4-zone RGB backlit keyboard and a boosted 84% screen-to-body ratio for a more attractive viewing experience.



The Nitro 17's power is housed in a chassis that weighs less than 3 kg and has a slim 400.20 x 293.25 x 27.9/28.9 mm design. It is powered by up to 13th Gen Intel Core HX processors. The 17.3-inch laptop comes in multiple display options such as an FHD display with 144Hz or 165Hz refresh rates, or a QHD display with a 165Hz refresh rate. It also offers a large touchpad (125.0 mm x 81.6 mm), an 81% screen-to-body ratio, and an RGB 4-zone backlit keyboard.


Besides, the new Acer Nitro laptops come with 32GB of DDR5 4800 Mhz memory and up to 2TB M.2 PCIe Gen 4 storage, allowing more space to store files, games, and movies. Also, Acer Nitro laptops have dual fans, four fan outlets located at the side and rear, and an upper air intake, they are also backed by liquid metal thermal grease to help with cooling during extended periods of intense gaming.


Not only that, each model of Acer Nitro comes with Killer DoubleShot Pro and Killer Wi-Fi 6 1650i enabled for more bandwidth. For connectivity options, it offers an HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD card reader, two Thunderbolt 4 ports supporting Power Delivery, and three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports.


Pricing and Availability


The Acer Nitro 16 (AN16-51) will be available in North America in May, starting at USD 1,199.99; in EMEA in May, starting at EUR 1,499, and in China in May, starting at RMB 6,599.

The Acer Nitro 17 (AN17-51) will be available in North America in May, starting at USD 1,199.99; and in EMEA in May, starting at EUR 1,599.

The brand new Predator Helios 16 (PH16-71) and Predator Helios (PH18-71) sports a completely new design and upgraded thermals while both are equipped with the 13th Gen Intel Core i9 or i7 HX processors, flanked by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 laptop GPU.


Furthermore, the Predator Helios 16 offers a 16-inch (16:10) WQXGA (2560 x 1600) display at 165Hz or 240Hz or a Mini LED panel at 250Hz, powered by AUO AmLED technology that supports over 1000 nits peak brightness and 100% coverage of DCI-P3 colour gamut.


For the Predator Helios 18, it offers an 18-inch (16:10) display with three options, WUXGA (1920 x 1200) at 165Hz and WQXGA (2560 x 1600) at 165Hz or 240Hz, or AUO's superfast 250Hz Mini LED display.


To keep the powerful components cool, the new Predator laptops feature enhanced thermal solutions with dual custom-engineered 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D metal fans and vector heat pipes for improved heat transfer.


Both gaming laptops cover a full range of peripherals with USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, including an HDMI 2.1, two USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4 that support power delivery, and a Micro SD card reader.


Predator X45 & X27U Gaming Monitors


Acer's two newest Predator gaming monitors, the Predator X45 and the Predator X27U, both feature OLED displays and blazingly fast performance to please hardcore gamers. The 45-inch UWQHD (3440 x 1440) Predator X45 is an 800R ultra-wide curved monitor with DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.0 ports connectivity.
