CD Projekt Stocks Fall More Than 75% Since Cyberpunk 2077 Release

A new report has revealed that Polish game company CD Projekt’s stock has fallen by more than 75% since Cyberpunk 2077’s launch in December 2020.

In a report by Business Insider Poland, CD Projekt was valued at over 40 billion Polish złoty (RM 37 billion) in December 2020. The company is worth less than 10 billion (RM 9.3 billion) in 2022.

According to a Video Games Chronicle article, CD Projekt is no longer the most valued video game company in Poland. That title now goes to Techland, developers of the Dying Light series.

Techland enjoyed a successful launch for Dying Light 2, selling over 5 million copies during its first month.

Despite the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077 affecting CD Projekt Red, their future looks promising as they continue developing a current-gen port of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, and the next game in The Witcher franchise.
