A pro Call of Duty Mobile player has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after murdering another pro player.

Guilherme “Flashlight” Alves Costa from Gamers Elite confessed to stabbing “Ingrid “Sol” Oliveira Bueno de Silva of the Fantastic Brazil Impact Esports team in 2021. The two had met at a Call of Duty Mobile tournament a month before the crime.
It is unclear why Costa murdered de SIlva other than being in-game rivals. Although he claimed he was sane during the murder, a psychiatrist diagnosed him with persistent delusional disorder and antisocial personality disorder.
Regardless of his motives, it is truly a tragic event that leaves a bitter taste in the gaming industry.
