Black Shark 3 - The World's First 5G Gaming Phone has Arrived in Malaysia

After launching on the Chinese market, the Black Shark 3 series 5G gaming phones have finally swum over to Malaysian shores. True to their new slogan of '5G Gaming Trigger On,' the Black Shark 3 and Black Shark 3 Pro are packed with features that heavily appeal to mobile gamers.

Superior control

The Black Shark 3 series phones feature Master Touch 3.0, which include 4 pressure-sensitive sensors which enlarge the press zone by 48%. With a 270Hz touch reporting rate, you'll enjoy a record-breaking screen touch latency of 24ms, promising swifter reaction times. On the Black Shark 3 Pro, you'll have the added benefit of Master Triggers, which are pop-up shoulder buttons that FPS gamers will definitely take advantage of.

Beast-like performance

Performance-wise, you'll enjoy the power of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with a 'Sandwich' liquid cooling system to keep heat under wraps. UFS 3.0 RAM and LPDDR5 ROM will ensure smooth and fast data transfer, as well as swift game loading.

A dual battery configuration enables 65W super-fast charging and a longer battery life - you'll only need 12 minutes to top up to 50%, and 38 minutes for a full charge on both the Black Shark 3's 4,720mAh battery and the Black Shark 3 Pro's 5,000mAh battery. What makes it extra special are the 4 magnetic charging contacts on the back, which support 18W fast charge, in addition to the traditional USB-C port.

A flawless connection is one of the most important things on a gaming phone, and you won't find that in short supply on these devices. You'll enjoy 5G and WiFi 6 capabilities, as well as upgraded dual X-shaped antennas on its back to prevent signal impedance while held horizontally.

Looks good, sounds good

The Black Shark 3 Pro boasts a 7.1" AMOLED 2K display at 3120 x 1440 resolution, while the smaller Black Shark 3 has a 6.67" FHD+ AMOLED display. Both models have a 90Hz refresh rate, plus MEMC technology which boosts 25Hz videos up to 90Hz. You'll also enjoy Delta E<1 and JNCD <0.55 colour accuracy on both, while the Black Shark 3 Pro has the added perk of 10-bit colour.

Taking handheld gaming into account, the Black Shark 3 series phones have symmetrical front-facing speakers which will minimise obstruction while in handheld position. The 3.5mm headphone jack also makes a welcome appearance for those who prefer to keep their pewpew noises to themselves.

In terms of cameras, both models share the same triple camera setup which consists of a 64MP main camera, a 13 MP ultra-wide snapper, and a 5MP bokeh camera.
