ASUS ZenWiFi XD6 System Announced, Costs RM1,499
ASUS has announced its new ASUS ZenWiFi XD6 system, which offers WiFi 6 mesh networking and aggregate wireless speeds of up to 5400Mbps.
The six-antenna system sports 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands and is powered by a 1.5GHz triple-core processor. It has two wireless nodes with three Gigabit Ethernet ports and a fourth port for WAN or LAN each, and covers up to 5400 square feet of living space. The ASUS ZenWiFi XD6 supports wireless and wired backhaul, with Asus saying that “connecting the two units via Ethernet will devote all of the system’s wireless bandwidth to client traffic”.
For protection, there are integrated parental controls, AiProtectionPro, WiFi Protected Access 3, and the new Instant Guard mobile app that “transfers your router’s profile with the press of a button and creates” a VPN.
The parental controls block kids under 12 from social media and keeps teenagers from gambling sites, and also offers a content filter for more granular options. Meanwhile, AiProtectionPro, which makes use of Trend Micro’s database, “scans incoming and outgoing traffic to intercept common attacks, blocks access to known malicious websites, and detects infected devices on your network, severing their unsanctioned ties to outside servers”.
ASUS also says that the ASUS ZenWiFi XD6 supports easy setup with its ASUS Router app.
The ASUS ZenWiFi XD6 is now available on Lazada and Shopee for RM1,499. Below are the system’s specs:
