ASUS has announced the availability of a new dual-band Wi-Fi 6 mesh router system - the ZenWiFi AX Hybrid (XP4) - with HomePlug AV2 MIMO backhaul capability.

The new ZenWiFi router is equipped with the fast HomePlug AV2 technology, which uses MIMO and beamforming technologies to greatly increase the available bandwidth over electrical circuits to 1300Mbps. The router can be easily configured to prioritize powerline for the backhaul connection, or automatically choose the best type connection, either Wi-Fi 6, wired gigabit Ethernet, or powerline. It offers Wi-Fi 6 speeds of up to 1800Mbps and whole-home coverage for areas of up to 5500 square feet.

With its ASUS AiMesh technology, the router's network can be further extended using either additional ASUS ZenWiFi AX Hybrid nodes or any AiMesh-enabled ASUS router. Network status and configurations can be easily done via the ASSU Router app.

For security, it features AiProtection Pro, providing an extra layer of security for personal data for families or for business data. It also has built-in Parental Controls for monitoring and scheduling internet time. The ASUS Instant Guard feature can provide free public Wi-Fi connections by creating a private VPN data tunnel to the VPN server on the router.

The ASUS ZenWiFi AX Hybrid (XP4) will be available from 3 March on official stores on Shopee and Lazada at RM1,298.
