ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the arrival of the 2025 ROG laptop lineup. Featuring the latest processors from Intel®, AMD, and NVIDIA®, incredible new chassis and cooling designs for the ROG Strix series, and an incredibly powerful new Flow Z13, ROG has cemented its position as a gaming juggernaut. Updates to the ROG Zephyrus series, and a complete redesign of the XG Mobile to include Thunderbolt™ 5 support, underscore the 2025 lineup’s exceptional performance. 

Cutting-edge CPUs and GPUs

In 2025, the ROG laptop lineup introduces cutting-edge performance with Intel Core™ Ultra, AMD Ryzen™, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX™ 50 Series GPUs, revealed at CES 2025. Powered by NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, the RTX 50 Series delivers advanced AI capabilities, enhanced graphics fidelity, and groundbreaking tools for gamers and creators. Features include NVIDIA DLSS 4 for boosted performance, accelerated image generation, and creative enhancements with NVIDIA Studio. Additionally, NVIDIA NIM microservices empower users to develop AI assistants, agents, and workflows on NIM-ready systems.

Strix reigns supreme

The 2025 ROG Strix lineup introduces bold chassis designs for the Intel-based Strix SCAR 16, Strix SCAR 18, Strix G16, and Strix G18, featuring full-surround RGB lighting and the first tool-less bottom panel in gaming laptops. With a single button press, users can easily access internal components for cleaning or upgrades, no screws or cables needed. The displays include dual-layer ACR film, reducing reflections by 55% and enhancing contrast by 4.5X for vivid visuals and clearer enemy detection.

Delivering top-tier performance, the lineup offers up to NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5090 Laptop GPUs, enabling seamless gaming, productivity, and AI workflows. Equipped with NVIDIA DLSS 4 and ray tracing, these GPUs power advanced gaming experiences and over 700 AI-optimized apps, including generative AI tools for LLMs and visual creation.

The 2025 Strix lineup features the latest processors from AMD and Intel, offering top-tier gaming and multitasking performance. Intel-based Strix models, including the SCAR series and Strix G16/G18, are powered by the next-gen Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 275HX processor. Meanwhile, AMD-equipped Strix G16 and G18 models feature the Ryzen™ 9 9955HX3D (G16) or Ryzen™ 9 9955HX (G18) processors. Strix SCAR models support up to 64GB DDR5 RAM and 4TB PCIe Gen 4 storage, while Strix G models offer up to 32GB RAM and 2TB storage, catering to gamers and creators seeking premium performance.

Innovative cooling designs enhance performance and efficiency. Intel-based Strix machines use a sandwiched heatsink with end-to-end vapor chambers, liquid metal on the CPU/GPU, and a full-length exhaust vent, allowing up to 240W of power with reduced noise. AMD-based Strix models feature a 7-pipe cooling system, full-surround vents, and a tri-fan solution for excellent thermal management. Dust filters in all models ensure durability and longevity, making these laptops ideal for demanding users.

Flow Z13 redefines portable power

Since its 2022 debut, the ROG Flow Z13 has set the standard for gaming tablets, and the 2025 model takes it further with AMD’s cutting-edge Ryzen AI Max+ 395 chiplet processor. This desktop-class CPU features RDNA 3.5 graphics cores for Radeon™ 8060S-level gaming performance and outstanding power efficiency. Equipped with dedicated NPU cores delivering 50 TOPS of AI compute power, the Flow Z13 excels as an AI PC, enhancing experiences like Copilot+ with advanced capabilities.

The compact chassis houses premium components, including 14 power phases and Japanese capacitors, ensuring robust power delivery. Its unified quad-channel memory design shares up to 128GB of ultra-fast LPDDR5X-8000 RAM dynamically between CPU and GPU cores. This enables seamless performance across gaming, video editing, and multitasking, redefining power and portability in a gaming tablet.

The 2025 Flow Z13 features a brand-new vapor chamber, now built with a combination of stainless steel and copper and offering 54% more coverage of the mainboard compared to the previous generation design. This design keeps the vapor chamber low-profile yet retains rigidity, all while offering excellent cooling performance. The Flow Z13 features a redesigned pathing for air from the pair of 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans™, diverting a small amount to a specially designed channel behind the touchscreen to keep skin temperatures lower during use. 

A gorgeous 2.5K 180Hz ROG Nebula Display takes center stage on the Flow Z13, with 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and 500 nits of peak brightness. The machine also features robust I/O, with a 200W charging port, a dedicated HDMI port, as well as dual USB-A and dual USB-C® ports, both of which support USB4®.

Zephyrus upgrades power and cooling

The 2025 ROG Zephyrus lineup introduces ultra-portable designs with powerful hardware for gaming and creative workflows. The Zephyrus G14 features the AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370 processor with a dedicated NPU delivering 50 TOPS of AI compute power, while the Zephyrus G16 is equipped with the Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 285H processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX™ 5090 Laptop GPU. These thin-and-light laptops handle demanding AI, video, 3D, and livestreaming tasks with professional-grade GPU performance, NVIDIA Studio optimizations for over 150 apps, and NIM-ready configurations for advanced AI capabilities.

Enhanced cooling with improved heatpipes and 2nd Gen Arc Flow Fans boosts efficiency by 23%, redefining performance in compact form factors. Both models feature ROG Nebula Displays, with the G14 offering a 3K OLED panel and the G16 a 2.5K resolution, up to 240Hz refresh rates, and NVIDIA G-SYNC® support. The XG Mobile levels up

ROG announces the return of the XG Mobile, now equipped with Thunderbolt 5 for enhanced compatibility and performance. This powerful external GPU supports Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, and USB4 devices, offering a future-ready solution for boosting gaming performance.

Available in two models—one with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX™ 5090 Laptop GPU and another with an RTX™ 5070 Ti Laptop GPU—the XG Mobile provides a seamless, single-cable upgrade for gaming laptops. Its redesigned chassis features an off-black semi-transparent casing and a stainless steel vapor chamber for lightweight, efficient cooling.

As both an external GPU and dock, the XG Mobile delivers extensive connectivity through a single Thunderbolt 5 cable, including USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, HDMI® 2.1, DisplayPort™ 2.1, 5Gbps Ethernet, a UHS-II MicroSD card reader, and an additional Thunderbolt 5 port.
