ASUS ExpertBook P3 Review: The Professional Business Laptop with Incredible Features!

ASUS has recently unveiled the latest addition to their ExpertBook series, with their new ExpertBook PM3, but let’s have a look at one of their earlier unveilings this year, the ASUS ExpertBook P3! This new laptop is built for professional users and comes with many incredible features and security advantages that makes it stand out. In this review article, we’ll be taking a closer look at the ExpertBook P3, exploring its design, durability, security advantages, professional features, and overall usability to show why it’s the best choice for business users!

Design

The ASUS ExpertBook P3 comes with a premium and professional feel as it is crafted with a full-body aluminum design which also enhances its durability, and featured on the cover of the laptop is the all-new “ASUS ExpertBook” logo. In addition to this, the P3 also supports  one-handed opening, allowing users to quickly access the device without any issues.

Despite its appearance, the laptop only weighs at just 1.78kg, which makes it an excellent balance between sturdiness and portability, allowing users to be able to carry the device with them wherever they go with ease. Currently, the laptop only comes in a single colour, the Misty Grey.

Display

The ASUS ExpertBook P3 comes equipped with a stunning 16-inch WUXGA display which delivers incredible clarity and vibrant visuals to the screen for users to enjoy. The laptop also comes with a 16:10 aspect ratio, providing more vertical screen space, which is perfect for gaming as well as reading.

Asides from that, the device also features an Anti-glare IPS display as well as a peak brightness of 300 nits, to ensure that users will be able to use the ExpertBook P3 under the lights without any issues at all.

Connectivity

When looking at the connectivity options for the ASUS ExpertBook P3, it’s clear that it delivers a comprehensive selection designed to meet the needs of professional users. It comes equipped with two full-function USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports that support 5V to 20V full-range charging at 10Gbps data transfer speeds, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports at 5Gbps, one HDMI 2.1 TMDS port, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, and a RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet port.

Performance

The ASUS ExpertBook P3 delivers reliable performances as it is powered by an Intel® Core™ i7-13620H processor with 10 cores, 16 threads, 24MB cache, and boost speeds of up to 4.9GHz, ensuring smooth operation even when handling demanding professional workloads. Furthermore, the laptop comes with support for up to 64GB of DDR5 memory at 5200Hz, enabling efficient multitasking and future-proof performance for business applications. Storage is also well covered with two M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD slots, giving users both speed and flexibility for large files, projects, and enterprise-level data without worrying about running out of space.

To evaluate the laptop’s ability to handle everyday workloads, I used the Geekbench 6 benchmark test. The ASUS ExpertBook P3 achieved 1433 points in the single-core test and 6626 points in the multi-core test, demonstrating that it is more than capable of managing daily tasks efficiently.

In addition, I also used the PCMark 10 benchmark test in order to measure the complete system test for the device for all types of Windows PC. The results show that the P3 was able to get a score of 4315, and it also shows that this laptop has higher scores in both the  essentials and productivity apps, which is especially important for those involved in business.

The ASUS ExpertBook P3 is engineered with the innovative ASUS Expert Cool thermal design, ensuring that the laptop maintains lag-free performance throughout the day. This advanced cooling system allows the CPU to consistently operate at over 45W TDP without throttling, providing stable and reliable power even under heavy workloads. With this, professionals can work worry-free, knowing that the P3 delivers sustained performance without overheating issues.

Security

One of the standout strengths of the ASUS ExpertBook P3 is its comprehensive security, offering three layers of protection across hardware, software, and BIOS. On the hardware side, it features a built-in light sensor for chassis intrusion detection that alerts users if the laptop is opened without authorization, alongside a discrete TPM chip and a fingerprint sensor for secure Windows Hello login.

At the software level, ASUS bundles a three-year McAfee Premium Edition subscription, providing fraud protection, social media privacy tools, and unlimited VPN access—an added value worth RM629 per year.

Finally, at the BIOS level, the P3 guarantees five years of security updates and complies with NIST SP 800-155 standards, ensuring it can detect and prevent advanced threats like bootkits or rootkits during system startup.

Battery

Powering the ExpertBook P3 is a 63Wh high-capacity 3-cell battery paired with a 65W USB Type-C adaptor, capable of delivering up to 12 hours of usage on a single charge. This makes it an excellent choice for users who value plug-free travel without the need to constantly carry an adaptor around. On top of that, the P3 supports fast charging, reaching 60% in just 49 minutes, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity on the go.
