ASUS Announces Radeon RX 6800M Strix G Advantage Edition Laptops

Following AMD’s announcement of its RDNA 2 architecture-based RX 6000M Series mobile GPUs, ASUS has unveiled a couple of new gaming laptops that are described as the first to sport the series’ top-end AMD Radeon RX 6800M.

The new laptops are the 15.6-inch ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition and the 17-inch ROG G17 Advantage Edition, which also sport an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX. They offer a FHD display with a 300 Hz refresh rate and a WQHD display with a 165 Hz refresh rate, both with a 3 ms response time and FreeSync Premium, as choices.

Both laptops come with up to 32 GB of DDR4 3200 MHz RAM and up to 1 TB of PCIe SSD storage. They have 90 Wh batteries that ASUS says can provide 11.4 hours of video playback and can be recharged to 50% in 33 minutes via fast-charging.

The ROG Strix G Advantage Editions’ audio features include twin Smart Amp speakers behind the keyboard, Dolby Atmos, and Two-Way AI Noise Cancelation. Visually, it offers an Original Black scheme, an athletic gear-inspired aesthetic, a 360° chassis design, Aura Sync lighting, and Customizable Armor Caps, with three styles including Challenger Red included in the box.

For cooling, the laptops have ROG Intelligent Cooling, including a new version of its self-cleaning cooling system. Additionally, they have a CoolZone design with vents beneath the keyboard and an IR sensor to monitor the temperatures and keep the keys below 40°C.

It’s currently unknown when the ROG Strix G15 and G17 Advantage Edition laptops will make their way to Malaysia, with ASUS simply saying that they will “not be available for Malaysia market as of now”.
