ASUS Announces New RTX 30 Series Cards With Improved Cooling

ASUS has announced their new third-party RTX 30 series cards, following NVIDIA’s big reveal of its next-gen graphics cards on 1 September. The new cards are the RTX 3090 and RTX 3080, which both have ROG Strix and ASUS TUF Gaming variants, as well as the RTX 3070 which will have ROG Strix and ASUS Dual versions.

All three variants for the RTX 30 series boast improved cooling-related designs. The ROG Strix series, for instance, has a new shroud with three Axial-tech fans for better lateral dispersion airflow. Meanwhile, the TUF Gaming Series features a protective metal backplate with a vent that lets hot air head towards the chassis exhaust fans instead of heading back to the GPU cooler.

“These new GPUs bring buffed-up cooling, PCBs, and power design to complement the new NVIDIA Ampere architecture,” said ASUS in a press release. “From competitive action to high-res immersion, this lineup delivers the latest and greatest in 3D gaming performance.”
