ASUS Announces New ROG Gaming Laptops and Fashion Accessories, Teases Future RTX 3050 Options

ASUS has announced two new gaming laptops, the ROG Zephyrus S17 and the ROG Zephyrus M16. The company also announced the new ROG Slash lineup of accessories and teased the arrival of several RTX 3050-equipped laptops in the future.

The 17” ROG Zephyrus S17 comes with an 11th Gen Intel Core i9-11900H and an RTX 3080. There are two display options: a WQHD display with Advanced Optimus and G-SYNC or a 4K display with Adaptive-Sync.

The laptop sports the AAS Plus cooling system, which lifts its optical-mechanical keyboard at a 5° angle to open wide vents that enable the new Arc Flow fans to “quietly pull cooling air into the laptop”. Additionally, it has six-speaker audio and Multiwheel. Its storage options include a three-drive HyperDrive Ultimate SSD RAID array.

Meanwhile, the 16” ROG Zephyrus M16 offers a WQHD resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, a response time of 3ms, and Adaptive-Sync with its display. It also has a 16:10 aspect ratio, PANTONE-validated 100% DCI-P3, and Dolby Vision support. Inside, it has up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i9-11900H and up to an RTX 3070. The recently-announced RTX 3050 Ti is available as a GPU option.

On the audio side, the laptop has a six-speaker system with dual force-canceling woofers and Dolby Atmos, a 3D mic array, and Two-Way AI Noise Cancelation. Other features include ROG Intelligent Cooling and a 19.9mm thin and 1.9kg heavy body. Design-wise, the Zephyrus M16 has an Off Black tint, Prismatic Film, and CNC-milled perforations.

As for ROG Slash, ASUS describes it as “a brand-new collection of fashion accessories that channels radical electric-blue and red-violet PANTONE colors and a coding theme into a striking visual identity, evoking cyberpunk, esports, and gaming subcultures with a trendy aesthetic”.

“The contrasting hues are reminiscent of the endless battles of competing teams, while the accompanying command-prompt iconography celebrates the individualistic nature of the gaming elite who will do anything to secure victory,” says ASUS.

The first batch of products under the lineup include a drawstring backpack, two messenger bags, and headgear made from “premium, water-repellent fabrics”.

Finally, ASUS says that the RTX 3050 family is headed for other ROG gaming laptops, with several models set to release in May and June. For the coming non-Ti RTX 3050-equipped laptops, the TUF Gaming F15 will cost RM4,199 while the F17 will cost RM4,299. They will arrive in mid-June and at the end of June respectively. Meanwhile, May will see the ROG Strix G15, which will cost between RM4,199 to RM4,799 depending on the variant, the RM4,599 ROG Strix G17, and the RM5,699 ROG Zephyrus G14 being released.

May will also see the release of ASUS’ RTX 3050 Ti laptops, such as the RM6,499 RTX 3050 Ti variant of the ROG Zephyrus G14 and the RM4,799 ASUS TUF Gaming Dash F15.
