ASUS has announced a new 2-in-1 Windows 11 detachable 13.3-inch laptop - the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED. The versatile device comes with a detachable full-size keyboard and a cover stand that has a 170° hinge. The touchscreen laptop also supports the ASUS Pen 2.0 stylus.
The Vivobook features an OLED Dolby Vision touchscreen with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and supports DisplayHDR True Black 500, along with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. The OLED display has a 0.2 ms response time and is TUV Rheinland certified.
It houses a quad-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system, which uses a smart amplifier to produce up to 3.5 times louder than a standard amplifier. The laptop also supports Wi-Fi 6.
The ASUS Pen 2.0 has 4096-level pressure sensitivity, 5 - 350 g pen-tip force, and a 266 Hz touch sampling rate. It comes with 4 interchangeable pen tips with different textures that mimic 2H, H, HB, and B pencils. The stylus can be paired with the laptop via Bluetooth and charged via any USB-C charger.
The detachable keyboard has keys spaced at 19.05 mm apart and a 1.4 mm key travel for comfortable typing. The laptop is powered by the quad-core 3.3 GHz Intel processor, along with up to a 256 GB PCIe 3.0x4 SSD and up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The Vivobook 13 Slate OLED also features a 5 MP front-facing camera and a 13 MP rear camera. For connectivity, it has 2 USB-C ports, a microSD card reader, as well as an audio jack. Its 50 Wh battery supports USB-C Easy Charge, which can charge up the device to 60% in 39 minutes.
Besides the standard version, the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED will soon have two exclusive Artist Editions, designed in collaboration with artists Steven Harrington and Philip Colbert, reflecting the contemporary pop culture and celebrating individuality. Available in early 2022, the Artist Editions will include a special cover stand, wallpaper, a special box, a sleeve, a keyboard, a hard cover case, and keyboard stickers. Meanwhile, the Philip Colbert Artist Edition also comes with a pair of limited-edition shoelaces. The standard edition comes bundled with a keyboard, cover stand, and ASUS Pen 2.0.
