Apple's latest smartwatch series - the Apple Watch 7 Series - features an Always-On Retina display with more screen area and thinner borders. Touted as the most durable Apple watch, it has a stronger and more crack-resistant front crystal. It is also the first Apple watch to have IP6X dust resistance and WR50 water resistance ratings.
With borders at just 1.7 mm, the Apple Watch 7 Series is available in 41 mm and 45 mm sizes. The Alway-On Retina display is 70% brighter indoors than its predecessor. In addition to two new larger fonts, the watch also has a new QWERTY keyboard that can be tapped or swiped with QuickPath.
It can last for 18 hours on a single charge through a new charging architecture and Magnetic Fast Charger USB-C Cable.
Running on watchOS 8, it will include some new faces like the Contour face and Modular Duo face. It also features algorithms to analyse GPS, heart rate, accelerometer, and gyroscope data to detect when users ride a bike. The Outdoor Cycle workout mode will have auto pause and resume to more accurately reflect the data. For instance, it will stop counting when users are waiting for the traffic and will resume when the light goes green.
The Apple Watch 7 Series will come in five colour variants: midnight, starlight, green, blue, and red. It will be available later this fall.
