Acer Predator's MASSIVE New 55" 4K Gaming Monitor Can Sense Your Presence

Living up to its name, Acer Predator has just launched the Predator CG552K, a ginormous 55-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor that senses its prey - just kidding, by that we mean that it has a built-in proximity sensor that detects if you're within range. That means it wakes up when it senses your presence, and goes right back to sleep when you leave the area (sounds just like your lazy employee, eh?)

Jokes aside, the CG552K is a certainly a beast (okok I'll stop with the puns). The 3840 x 2160 OLED panel supports up to 400 nits brightness and has Delta E<1 colour accuracy plus 98.5% DCI-P3 coverage to bring images to life.

It supports both Adaptive Sync and NVIDIA G-Sync; coupled with 0.5ms response time via overdrive and 120Hz refresh rate, this allows responsive, buttery smooth gameplay that leaves you nothing to blame for your noobness.

If you're a console gamer, have no fear, as you can plug in your entire gaming ecosystem with the CG522K's insane range of connectivity:

  • 3x HDMI 2.0 ports

  • 2x DisplayPort v1.4 ports

  • 1x USB Type-C port

  • 2x USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports

You'll also enjoy dynamic audio from 2 10W speakers, as well as customisable light strips to reinforce your RGB dominance.

The Predator CG552K will be available in North America in Q3, with prices starting from USD2,999 (RM12,320). Exact prices will vary according to region.
