Acer Announces New Swift 5 and Swift 3 Featuring the latest 12th Gen Intel Core Processors

Acer has announced new models of its Swift 5 and Swift 3, featuring the latest 12th Gen Intel Core processors, touchscreen displays, and all-day battery life.

Weighing 1.2kg, the new Acer Swift 5 is powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core processor and Intel Iris Xe graphics, paired with 16GB of dual-channel LPDDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. It supports Windows Hello built into a fingerprint reader on the power button and is Intel Evo verified. The laptop offers a 10-hour real-world battery life and can last for 4 hours with a 20-minute charge.


It features a 16:10 touchscreen display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, a 92.2% screen-to-body ratio, and a layer of Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass. There's also an FHD MIPI webcam that uses Acer's Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR) and PurifiedVoice technologies.


The Swift 5 comes with an Ocean Glass touchpad and a backlit keyboard with an air inlet design that releases 8% - 10% more heat than a standard keyboard. It also employs an upgraded TwinAir dual-fan system and D6 heat pipes for increased airflow and thermal efficiency. For connectivity, it offers two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports. It also supports Wi-Fi 6E.

Meanwhile, the Acer Swift 3 is an all-new 14" laptop that comes in three color-washed designs. It is equipped with up to the 12th Gen Intel Core processors and up to 2TB of SSD storage.


It offers a display with two resolution options, a QHD and an FHD touchscreen. It also has an FHD webcam with TNR technology as well as Wi-Fi 6E and DTS Audio support. Ports-wise, there are USB-C, USB-A, and HDMI 2.1 ports. The Swift 3 will also have a 4-hour battery life with a single 30-minute charge.


The Acer Swift 5 is priced at US$1,499 (~RM6,287) while the Acer Swift 3 is priced at US$849.99 (~RM3,565).
