A new wave of laptops featuring Intel's 10th Gen CPUs are starting to arrive, and Acer is definitely no exception. The Predator Triton 500 and Nitro 5 are Acer's newest contenders in the arena, both of which feature NVIDIA GeForce GPUs, speedy refresh rates, and improved thermal performance.
Acer Predator Triton 500
The Predator Triton 500 is definitely the stand-out of the two, promising powerful performance you can take on the go. Expect sheer power with 10th Gen Intel Core i7/i5 H-series processors, along with Max-Q variants of RTX 2080 Super and RTX 2070 Super GPUs.
Additionally, it will contain up to 32GB of DDR4 memory and up to 2TB of NVMe SSD storage in RAID 0 configuration. The 300Hz IPS display features a 3ms overdrive response time, 100% sRGB colour gamut, and supports NVIDIA G-SYNC.
On top of that, you'll also enjoy up to 7.5 hours of battery life - all packed into a 17.9mm-thin chassis weighing only 2.1kg. To keep things cool, the Triton 500 employs a new cooling technology called Vortex Flow, whereby 3 fans operate together to increase airflow while minimising noise.
Acer Nitro 5
The Acer Nitro 5 offers up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and graphics options of an RTX 2060, or the latest GTX1650Ti or GTX1650 GPUs. You'll also get up to two M.2 PCIe SSDs, a 1TB HDD, and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM.
Display-wise, the Nitro 5 delivers significantly improved visuals; users can choose between 120Hz or 144Hz displays with 3ms response times and 300 nits of brightness.
Acer has not disclosed when either model will be launched in Malaysia yet, but we have an inkling of the prices based on the US pricing, which starts from USD2,199.99 (RM9,594) for the Predator Triton 500, and USD 749.99 (RM3,271) for the Nitro 5.
