The Galaxy A series is Samsung's latest launch in Malaysia, which consists of the Galaxy A73 5G, Galaxy A53 5G, and Galaxy A33 5G. While it's a mid-range device, the Galaxy A73 comes with features that put it on par with some premium devices in the market. Below are 5 reasons why it is the perfect mid-ranger for you if your pocket is not quite ready for pricey flagships.
First Samsung mid-range device with a 108MP camera
The camera system of the Galaxy A73 5G has been upgraded with a 108MP (F1.8) main camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) support from the 64MP unit on last year's A72 5G. The primary camera is complemented with a 12MP (F2.2) ultra-wide camera, a 5MP 9F2.4) depth camera, and a 5MP (F2.4) macro camera for capturing beautiful photos and videos. As for selfies, the front display houses a 32MP camera. Both cameras on the front and back are capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps.
Large and smooth 120Hz Super AMOLED+ display
Featuring a 6.7" Super AMOLED+ display, the Galaxy A73 has a super smooth 120Hz refresh rate, capable of delivering a smooth experience of web browsing, video binging, and gaming. Content viewing is more immersive thanks to its FHD+ resolution and up to 800 nits of peak brightness for high clarity even when you're outdoors.
Snapdragon 778G and great performance
Paired with the 120Hz display is a powerful Snapdragon 778G chipset, capable of satisfying users' needs for any mobile task and mobile games, including Genshin Impact (if you're curious). The A73 is also equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, both of which are expandable via virtual RAM and a microSD card. The Snapdragon processor is built on a 6nm process with a 5G modem, offering a great balance between performance and price.
5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging
The A73 is powered by a large 5000mAh battery, which easily provides you with more than a day of battery life, depending on your usage. It supports Samsung's 25W fast charging technology, which can get you ready to go in no time. However, Samsung has decided to ditch the charger this time for this year's Galaxy A models (including the A53 and A33), which means you'll need to purchase a separate one if you don't already have it.
Gorilla Glass 5 and IP67 dust and water resistance
The front display of the A73 is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 which provides resistance against drops and scratches. On top of that, it comes with an IP67 dust and water resistance rating which allows it to work for up to 30 minutes in up to 1m of freshwater.
The Samsung Galaxy A73 5G is now available for RM2,099 in three color options: Awesome Black, Awesome White, and Awesome Mint. To find out more about how it fares, read our full review here.
