VR, AR, MR...and now xR? Don't worry, we're confused too.
3Particle Solution has teamed up with Giochi Academy to bring xR virtual production technology to Malaysia. xR stands for 'extended reality', which is a mix of augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR). It combines camera tracking and real-time rendering to create a fully immersive virtual environment that is visible live on set and shot directly in camera.

Seen in large scale events, xR provides a number of perks against traditional green screen virtual production, including in-camera VFX, real-time adjustment of content, fast accurate calibration, full 3D pre-visualisation, integration of lighting and content, and most notably, no colour key or spill.
The technology is supported by Unreal Engine, disguise, and Mo-Sys. Currently, there are a total of 65 xR stages in the APAC region, and 282 worldwide. XR Stage MY is the very first xR stage in Malaysia, and is located at Sunway Subang Business Park near to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.
