HUAWEI has been using Leica engineered cameras for its flagship phones since 2019 and the two companies have ended their partnership this year with the launch of the HUAWEI P50 series. Earlier in May, sources claimed that Leica is looking for a new manufacturer and it could be HONOR, Xiaomi, or Sharp.
In a now-deleted Weibo post, Digital Chat Station suggested that Xiaomi will be Leica's next brand partner with an image of the Mi 11 Ultra with the Leica branding next to the rear camera setup along with the caption "Coming soon...", indicating that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra may feature Leica cameras.
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to launch in early 2022, packing three 50 MP cameras. It could also come with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.
