Updated PS App To Offer Remote Download And Other Features

Sony has revealed its updated PlayStation App’s features in a PlayStation Blog post.

The updated app will have native PlayStation Store integration and allow users to download games and add-ons remotely to their PS4 or PS5. Users can also remotely launch games and manage storage on their PS5, as well as sign into the console via the app.

Aside from that, users will be able to create party groups, as well as voice chat with up to 15 other players. In addition, the app will now provide integration with the PS Messages app feature, with its messages and threads moving over. With this change, PS Messages will no longer exist as its own app.

There will also be a new user interface and an Explore tab that features PS Blog articles and official news from game developers.

Sony says that the updated PS App began global roll out via updates on iOS (1.2 or later) and Android (6.0 or later) on October 28.
