Sony has revealed a lineup of seven new indie games coming to PlayStation soon, ranging from mysterious horrors and action-packed dungeons to colorful characters and thoughtful explorations.
Wytchwood
Made by Alientrap Games, Wytchwood is a crafting game where players will play as a witch collecting ingredients, meeting characters from fairytales, and brewing concoctions.
Sol Cresta
An official sequel to the 80s Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta, Sol Cresta is “free-form docking and shooting” game by Platinum Games. The game features a "dock-and-split" system that allows players to combine their ships together to create new attacks.
A Short Hike
A Short Hike is an open-world exploration game in which players assume the role of a bird Claire, tasked with reaching the summit of a mountain to get cellphone reception. Besides the main quest, there will be a collection of mini-games for players to experience like beach volleyball. A Short Hike was previously released on Switch and PC, and will make its PlaySation debut this fall.
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is a follow-up of the events in 2016's Oxenfree by Night School Studio. Players will take on a new character called Riley who returns to her hometown of Camena to investigate mysterious radio signals. Like the first game, the gameplay is driven by conversations.
Carrion
Originally released in July last year, Carrion is coming to PlayStation. Described as a "reverse horror game", Carrion will play as a tentacled monster to make its way through a facility, stalking and killing humans in its path. As the game progress, players will be able to upgrade abilities like dashing and growing in size.
Hades
Developed by SuperGiant Games, Hades is a roguelike action dungeon crawler game released last year. Players will assume the role of Zagreus, son of Hades, as he attempts to escape the Underworld. Awarded as 2020's "Game of the Year", Hades will make its PlayStation debut on 13 August.
Axiom Verge 2
Axiom Verge 2 is a sequel to 2015's Metroid-like by sole developer, Tom Happ. Happ revealed that Axiom Verge 2 is two worlds in one and there will be an alternate dimension of the entire map. Players will be able to travel between dimensions to explore and discover new secrets.
