Sony Plans to Expand PlayStation Games to the Mobile Gaming Market

Updated: May 28, 2022

We've seen many video game brands tapping into the mobile gaming market recently, for example, EA's Apex Legends Mobile and Blizzard's upcoming Diablo Immortal. Now Sony is planning to join the bandwagon too.

According to the company's investor portal, spotted by Android Central, PlayStation Studios is planning to expand its portfolio into the mobile gaming market, live service, and VR. Sony also recently held meetings with investors and corporates, focusing on FY2021 earnings and plans for the next few years.

The company is planning to look for partners with "established third-party IP" that fits into "the values of PlayStation Studios". Sony has already ported out a few PlayStation exclusive titles to PC, such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Death Stranding, and Days Gone. Therefore it's only a matter of time before we see the company push its games to the mobile platform.
