HONOR 70
Price: RM 1999
HONOR has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the HONOR 70. With the brand constantly bringing innovations and features with each iteration, does the latest version live up to expectations? Read on to find out!
Design
Weighing 178g, this sleek HONOR 70 is extremely light and feels like holding a piece of paper. It also has a thickness of 7.91mm with a slim symmetrical design.
The back of the phone has an axisymmetric dual-ring camera, creating a minor hump. I did not have any issues handling the phone. Its slender design did not affect my grip whatsoever.
The volume and lock buttons are located on the right side, while the Type-C charging port and SIM card tray are on the bottom.
Display & Audio
The phone comes with a 6.6-inch OLED 58 Curved Punch Hole Display with a 2400x1080 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
There is a setting to adjust the refresh rate, allowing for better performance or battery life.
For the audio, it has a loudspeaker that produced satisfactory sound quality when I listened to music or watched videos.
Camera
Coming with a triple camera setup, the HONOR 70 has a camera for any situation. It features a 54MP super sensing camera with a Sony IMX800 1/1.49-inch sensor. It also has a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view and a 2MP depth camera.
I found the camera’s quality spectacular, especially in low-light environments with no proper lighting. Although, I feel that the Night Mode may brighten a picture too much, which might drastically alter a picture.
Performance
The HONOR 70 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G processor and an Adreno 642L GPU. It also has GPU Turbo X graphics acceleration technology for smoother gaming experiences.
It has 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM expanded with an additional 2GB through HONOR RAM Turbo.
Testing the performance with Genshin Impact, I could run the game smoothly on medium settings at 60FPS.
Charging
With a 4800 mAh battery, the phone can last an entire day of use without charging. It also has a 66W SuperCharge that can charge up to 60% in just 20 minutes, ideal for quick charges.
Buy or no buy
In conclusion, I think that the HONOR 70 is an exceptional phone that blends an appealing design and functionality into one smartphone. With its high-quality camera, reliable performance and reasonable retail price of RM 1999, it is a phone I can easily recommend to anyone.
