A week ago, realme teased us with the announcement of a realme GT 2 series special event and the whole world expected to see the realme GT 2 series' launch. But apparently, the company had something else in mind. Instead of a debut, the company only revealed the "three world premiere technologies" that are coming with the device.
To start off, the smartphone will feature what realme called the "Paper Tech Master Design", making it the world's first device designed with bio-based materials from SABIC. According to the company, the back cover uses a bio-polymer material to replace fossil raw materials. Aside from the eco-friendly materials, realme also uses a new box design with a much lower overall plastic ratio, reducing from 21.7% to 0.3% only.
The realme GT 2 Pro will be the world's first smartphone to feature a 150° ultrawide-angle camera, providing a 278% wider field of view than the main camera's 84° field.
It also features the world's first fisheye mode, which produces a strong perspective or "ultra-long depth of field effect".
For better communication, the phone is equipped with an Antenna Array Matrix System, which consists of 3 technologies: the world's first ultra-wide-band antenna switching technology (HyperSmart), a Wi-Fi Enhancer, and 360° near-field communication (NFC) technology.
According to realme, the HyperSmart antenna switching technology is designed with 12 wrap-around antennas that cover all sides of the smartphone and "support mainstream bands in almost all directions" with the same signal strength.
The Wi-Fi antenna is also designed to provide more balanced signal strength around the phone and it managed to improve signal stability by 20%, according to tests conducted by the company. realme has also integrated the GT 2 Pro's top two cellular antennas with an NFC signal transceiver function to increase the sensing area by 500% and sensing distance by 20%.
