Overwatch is getting a three-episode animated series this July as Blizzard confirmed!

As the title reads, Blizzard has announced that Overwatch will be getting an anime adaptation, dubbed "Overwatch Genesis," a three-part mini-series that is planned to premiere on July 6th, 2023.

According to the trailer, Genesis's story will be set in Omnic Crisis, where you can see Reinhardt, Ana, Torbjörn, and Dr. Mina Liao, the creator of Echo, fighting off the threatening AI machines that were once living peacefully with humans.

The Overwatch Genesis Part One - Dawn will have a run time of 5 minutes and 13 seconds, if this was the expected duration for each episode, it is most likely that the mini-series will be as long as one anime episode to cover the Omnic Crisis lore.
