Overwatch 2 and other Blizzard games are coming to Steam

Overwatch 2 will be the first Blizzard game to be released on Steam.

Blizzard Entertainment announced that they will be bringing a selection of Blizzard titles to Steam, starting with Overwatch 2 on August 10, which also meets the day of the Overwatch 2 Invasion that introduces players to new PvE story missions, new core PvP game mode, new maps, and a new hero.

"While Battle.net remains a priority for us now and into the future, we've heard players want the choice of Steam for a selection of our games, starting with Overwatch 2 on August 10th. We’re happy to work with Valve to make that happen," said Mike Ybarra, President of Blizzard Entertainment.

Players will need to have a Battle.net account to play Overwatch 2 on Steam. Besides that, the Steam version of Overwatch 2 supports all of the Steam features like Steam achievements, Steam friends list, and the ability to invite friends to the game.

The Overwatch 2 Steam page is live and can be wishlisted now. For now, Blizzard Entertainment hasn't revealed much about the next game / recent titles such as Diablo IV to be getting a Steam release, but they will be sharing more about potential games coming to Steam "when the time is right."
