If you’ve spent any time on the internet or more specifically on Tiktok lately, you would’ve seen the multitude of creators making videos based on the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. The divorced couple has been the talk of the town lately, but does it have anything to do with gaming? Not really. Until now!
Youtuber Marimomo Morimo has been painstakingly recreating snippets of the trial using visuals from the Ace Attorney games. What’s amazing is that the Youtuber hasn’t just spliced video clips together with the sound effects from the Ace Attorney games but actually spent time drawing new sprites and animation for the celebrities, witnesses and lawyers with the same style as the games.
It’s really impressive and funny, especially when you get lawyers throwing around terms like Objections and Hearsay with the same gusto as the game and the absurdity of the trial is shown a new light when you view it through the lens of the Ace Attorney games.
