miHoYo Unexpectedly Reveals Three New Genshin Impact Characters

The Genshin Impact Twitter page has revealed three new upcoming characters for the game. Like Update 1.6’s swordsman Kazuha, all of them hail from the nation of Inazuma.

The first of these is the bow-wielding Pyro character Yoimiya (Frolicking Flames), the owner of Naganohara Fireworks who is described as “Inazuma’s best pyrotechnician”. Her constellation is Carassius Auratu.

The second is the highly-anticipated Kamisato Ayaka (Frostflake Heron), the daughter of the Yashiro Commission’s Kamisato Clan and the one who describes Yoimiya as their nation’s “best pyrotechnician”. Ayaka herself is described as someone who “will personally take care of the most troublesome matters.” Ayaka is a Cryo character and has Grus Nivis has her constellation.

Finally, there’s the diminutive Sayu (Mujina Ninja), whose costume includes a racoon tail and a massive hood that resembles a racoon head. Ayaka describes her as someone who is “usually hiding in the trees in the afternoons”. She is the resident ninja of Shiyuumatsu-Ban and is an Anemo character. Her constellation is Nycrereues Minor.

Ayaka was playable in Genshin Impact’s closed beta, while Yoimiya and Sayu were previously mentioned in leaks. It’s currently unknown when these characters will show up, but Version 1.7 seems like a probable answer.

In the meantime, Version 1.6 is set to launch on June 9, which will also see the release of Genshin Impact on Epic Games Store. Among the new update’s features are the Kazuha banner, the Klee banner rerun, and a new Archon Quest. There’s also the Midsummer Island Adventure, which features new island areas with puzzles and materials, various activities, and Waverider boats for sea-based gameplay.
