Microsoft is adding a free built-in virtual private network (VPN) service to the Edge browser, called Edge Secure Network. The Cloudflare-powered VPN service is currently in its testing phase and will be rolled out as a part of security upgrade.
The new feature will allow users to hide their location using a virtual IP address. This means users could be able to access content blocked in their countries like Netflix and Hulu.
Although the service is free, data use is only limited to 1GB per month and users need to sign in to their Microsoft accounts for the company to track their usage, ironically. However, Microsoft claims that Cloudflare will collect support and diagnostic information but will premanently remove that data every 25 hours.
