At SID 2022 Display Week, LG revealed that it has successfully developed a foldable OLED device that can fold and unfold to 360°.
At the event, the brand showcased a foldable OLED touchscreen phone unfolding to an 8.03" screen. Interestingly, the panel can be folded either inwards or outwards from 0 - 360°. LG claims that the foldable device uses UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) technology and the exterior screen is coated with an anti-fingerprint material for durability.
According to LG, it is rated for 200,000 folds under normal usage. The phone has a 2480 x 2200 resolution, 413ppi, 600 nits of peak brightness, and 109.9% of DCI-P3 color gamut support.
Alongside the foldable phone is a 17" foldable OLED panel, which folds 180° with a clamshell design like a laptop.
