Gigabyte Enters the SSD Market with the VISION DRIVE SSD 1TB

Gigabyte announced its first external SSD called the VISION DRIVE SSD 1TB, marking its entry into the external drive market.

The first in the VISION product line, the VISION DRIVE SSD 1TB features a USB 3.2 Gen2x2 Type C interface and a 1TB PCIe Gen3x4 NAND Flash SSD. It also has a Phison E12 controller. Gigabyte says that the SSD has a read/write speed of 2000MB/s

Design-wise, the SSD has a fingerprint-proof pure white matte surface with a leather trim design, as well as a black bottom. Gigabyte says that it uses eco-friendly plastic materials alongside “dozens of reinforced ribs” and two independent Nano carbon heatsinks for dealing with the SSD’s heat. The SSD also has bolts with an increased solder amount to secure the PCB and a steel protective case for drop resistance.

The VISION DRIVE SSD 1TB will come with both the USB Type C and Type A cables as well as a travel case. Gigabyte also announced that it was launching the VISION DRIVE 1TB Upgrade Kit to allow integration between the SSD and Gigabyte’s GC-USB 3.2 GEN2X2 host expansion card.
