[Games Around the Corner] Week 6, 2021 – Another Round of Little Nightmares

This week, we return to the creepy world of Little Nightmares with its sequel. We’re also getting a remaster of ecchi rail-shooter Gal Gun and a Switch port of Super Mario 3D World, which comes with another experience called Bowser’s Fury.

Little Nightmares 2

As with the first game, Little Nightmares 2 is a 2.5D side-scrolling platformer and horror game. This time, you play as Mono, a young boy with a paper bag over his head who is trapped in a world of creepy giant adults. Together with Six, the yellow raincoat-wearing girl from the first game, he sets out towards The Signal Tower, the source of the Transmission that is distorting the world. The game will be released on February 11 for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Switch, with next-gen consoles to get it later this year.

Gal Gun Returns

A remastered version of the original Gal Gun from 2011, Gal Gun Returns is an ecchi rail-shooter with a silly premise. The game is about a guy who accidentally becomes super popular after being shot with too many love arrows by an angel-in-training. Because of that, he has to clear waves of girls who’re trying to confess to him with Pheromone Shots, Ecstasy Shots, and Doki Doki Mode while trying to make your way to one of the main heroines. The game will include a Score Attack Mode and Doki Doki Carnival in addition to the Story Mode, along with the original’s DLC, new CGs, and new illustrations. Gal Gun Returns will be released on February 12 for PC and Switch.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury

Super Mario 3D World returns for the Switch, and it’s got a new experience called Bowser’s Fury packaged with it too. Super Mario 3D World for Switch retains the original’s co-op gameplay and levels, but characters can now move faster and don’t have to wait as long for dash to power up. Meanwhile, Bowser’s Fury will see Mario and Bowser Jr., who can be controlled by another player, team up to stop a rampaging Bowser on Lake Lapcat, which the Nintendo Store page describes as an “interconnected world” where all of its inhabitants, even flowers and birds, have a cat-like form. The game will be released on February 12.
