This week, Ubisoft releases an open world action-RPG with Greek gods and monsters, while a couple of ball-related sports games get their next-gen debut.
Immortals Fenyx Rising
Take on the role of the titular demigod Fenyx and embark on a quest to defeat the Titan Typhon and save the Greek gods in Immortals Fenyx Rising. Armed with special powers and weapons like the sword of Achilles and the bow of Odysseus, Fenyx will battle against creatures like the Minotaur, take on bosses, and also solve puzzles. Players can customize Fenyx’s appearance at the start of the game, and unlock gear and armour and upgrading abilities during their adventure. DLCs have already been planned for the game, with one of them being Chinese mythology-inspired. The open world action-RPG will be released for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Switch, Stadia, and PC via Uplay and Epic Games Store on December 3.
Previously released for PC and current-gen consoles, FIFA 21 is now making its way to next-gen. The game has over 700 teams, more than 90 stadiums, and more than 30 leagues, as well as new features like Interactive Match Sim and Creative Runs. For modes, the game sees the return of Volta Football and also includes FIFA Ultimate Team (playable in co-op now), Career Mode, and House Rules. The game will be released on December 4 for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
Madden NFL 21
Like FIFA 21, Madden NFL 21 is now making its way to next-gen after previously releasing on PC and current-gen consoles. The game includes modes like Face of the Franchise: Rise to Fame, described as a “playable documentary career mode”, and The Yard, which offers a customizable Avatar and a backyard football experience. There are also new gameplay mechanics like a Skill Stick ball-carrier system and new pass rush moves. The game will be released on December 4 for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
