This week, World of Warcraft players will get to visit the afterlife with the Shadowlands expansion. Also, some next-gen console releases of existing games.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands
The latest expansion for the World of Warcraft MMORPG, Shadowlands introduces a new setting with five new zones, a new player hub, and an “ever-changing” dungeon called Torghast. It also introduces four Covenants to choose from, with each of them providing unique quests, a campaign, and abilities based on your class, as well as a unique mount and appearance. As for the premise, Sylvanas Windrunner has opened the path to the Shadowlands, a realm of the dead. “As one of Azeroth’s greatest champions, you have been granted the power to cross over in body and soul,” reads the description. “Now you must investigate a conspiracy to unmake the cosmos, and help Warcraft legends journey back...or fulfill their ultimate destiny.” The expansion will be released on November 24 for PC and Mac.
Just Dance 2021
Released earlier for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and Stadia, the latest Just Dance will be playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X this week (the Series X version was sold with the Xbox One’s). The game features 40 new tracks including Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain On Me” and BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez’s “Ice Cream”, and has over 600 songs if you subscribe to Just Dance Unlimited (the game comes with a one month free subscription). Co-op, customized playlists, and a Just Dance Controller mobile app for tracking and scoring your dance moves are other features you can expect to find. Just Dance 2021 will be out on November 24 (probably the 25th in Malaysia) for the next-gen consoles.
Vigor
A free-to-play looter shooter that was previously released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Switch at different dates, Vigor will soon be making its way to the PS4 and PS5. The game is set in post-war Norway, where players will have to build shelters and potentially get into conflicts with other players. According to the FAQ, there will be crossplay between PS4 and PS5, but not between PlayStation and other consoles. Expect to see Vigor on current and next-gen PlayStations on November 25 (probably the 26th in Malaysia).
