This week, PC gamers can find out if they have what it takes to run Crysis Remastered on its Can it Run Crysis setting. If trying to melt your PC isn’t on your to-do list, there’s still a fair variety of other games to check out.
BPM: Bullets Per Minute
BPM: Bullets Per Minute is an old-school roguelite shooter that looks very red. That’s not all; it’s also a rhythm-action game, so you’ll be fighting to the beat of the music. Premise-wise, you’re a Valkyrie who has to defend Asgard from an invasion by the underworld. The game will be released on Steam on 15 September.
Spelunky 2
Like its predecessor (or predecessors, if you include the original freeware version), Spelunky 2 is a rogue-lite 2D platformer. This time though, you’re Ana, the daughter of the first game’s playable character. Ana’s adventure will see her exploring the moon, which has caverns, jungles, and more. The game will be out on PS4 on 15 September, with a Steam release due later.
Crysis Remastered
A remastered version of 2007’s graphics card-challenging Crysis. As in the original, you’ll be battling North Koreans and aliens on a lovely island. And if it’s like the original, the North Korean bits will have fun sandbox levels, while the alien bits are linear and not-so-fun. There are guns to use, but you also have the Nanosuit, which grants you super speed, super strength, and invisibility. Crysis Remastered will be out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on 18 September.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars
A collection of three 3D Mario games – Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. Super Mario 3D All-Stars will be released on Nintendo Switch on 18 September.
WWE 2K Battlegrounds
WWE 2K Battlegrounds is an action arcade game with exaggerated character proportions and special abilities that make it more over-the-top than a standard wrestling experience. There are several multiplayer modes, a story mode featuring Paul Heyman that is told with comic book strip cut-scenes, and a Battleground Challenge mode where you can create a custom character. The game will be out on Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and Steam on 18 September.
