[Games Around the Corner] Week 2, 2021 – Scott Pilgrim Returns
This week, Scott Pilgrim returns in a re-release of his 2010 game. Also, the PS5 gets last year’s MXGP 2020 while Steam gets a cowboys vs zombies strategy game.
Released on previous-gen consoles and PC in December 2020, MXGP 2020 is now arriving on the PS5. The games features 2020 MXGP and MX2 categories, track creation, and a Waypoint mode where you can place checkpoints to make your own route. There’s also customisation with over 110 official motorcycle brands and dedicated servers for online play. The game will be available on January 14.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game - Complete Edition
Originally released in 2010, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game gets bundled with its DLCs and the add-on packs Knives Chau and Wallace in this Complete Edition. The game is a 2D arcade-style beat 'em up inspired by the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World comics and movie, with characters like Ramona Flowers, Stephen Stills, and Scott Pilgrim himself being playable. There are mini-games and co-op as well. The game will be released on January 14 for PC, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, and Stadia.
Gunslingers & Zombies
Gunslingers & Zombies is a strategy game with cowboys and zombies battling it out in turn-based combat. “Enjoy the Wild West with a twist in a lightweight, post-apocalypse scenario, where nothing is normal,” reads the Steam description. “Face a variety of themed undead such as the mighty Buffalo Zombie! Let those zombies taste your pistols, rifles, canons, or knives, and make sure they’ll regret the day they were…erhm…they went undead.” Aside from the turn-based battles, there will apparently be RPG elements, scavenging, and lock-picking as well. The game will launch on Steam with its first chapter as an Early Access title on January 15.
