[Games Around the Corner] Week 1, 2021 – Steam Indie Edition Part 2

Welcome to the first Games Around the Corner of 2021! While there will undoubtedly be a bunch of big releases to look forward to this year, the lack of such titles this week means that we’re continuing last week’s focus on Steam indie games. This week, expect a trippy apocalypse, competitive RTS, and a Korean FMV game.

Noch

Although Noch co-developer Fair Games Studio’s track record raises some concern, the game’s premise is certainly very interesting. The world has been destroyed by someone called Lisa, and you’re now in a bizarre version of reality. The first-person game promises a “surreal apocalypse”, “colorful characters”, and both action and puzzles. You can also experience the game with a friend in co-op. The game will be released on January 7.

Iron Conflict

The Unreal Engine 4-powered Iron Conflict is described as an online competitive RTS, where aircraft and tanks from both World War 2 and the modern day are featured. But while the game uses the term RTS, don’t expect to find base-building and large forces. Instead, each player commands a squad comprised of three “historically-accurate” units, with hundreds of units to choose from. Matches are 3v3, 5v5, or 10v10 affairs, with massive maps promised for the 10v10 battles. The game will launch in Early Access on January 8.

MADE : Interactive Movie – 01. Run away!

MADE: Interactive Movie – 01. Run away! is the first episode in a FMV “Adventure crime thriller”. The story follows an Instagram influencer called Juri, who is popular online but is dissatisfied with her real life. One day, she wakes up to find herself locked in a room beneath a basement. There, she meets Sung-Hoon, who found himself there after getting attacked. The game will offer puzzles to solve and decisions to make, with the latter affecting the story. The game will release on January 8.
