Gamer Installs OG Xbox Emulator On Steam Deck

The Steam Deck has been an example of Valve’s ingenuity since its release in February 2022. Not only has it pushed the boundaries of portable gaming, but it has also shown its versatility with its ability to run emulators.

Youtube channel Modern Vintage Gamer showed this when he installed an emulator for the original Xbox on the Steam Deck.

The games that he tested included Halo Combat Evolved, Ninja Gaiden Black and TimeSplitters 2.

While the games tested ran relatively smooth at 60 FPS, games like Halo saw a slight drop in frames when the visuals were upscaled.

Despite the minor hiccups, the fact the Steam Deck can run the Xbox emulator smoothly is proof of its stellar capabilities as a portable gaming machine.
