Today, Free Fire announced its most iconic offline tournament, the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) 2022 will take place in Sentosa, Singapore in May. Featuring 22 teams from across 13 regions, the play-ins will take place on 14 May and the Finals will happen on 21 May.
The play-ins will see 12 teams battling to earn a spot at the Finals and the top 2 teams will be joining the 10 top-seeded teams to form a total of 12 teams competing for the champion title of the FFWS 2022 Sentosa.
This year, the Malaysia, Cambodia, and Philippines (MCP) region will send two teams to the FFWS Finals. The teams will battle over 6 rounds across 3 maps and they will be given scores based on round ranking and the number of kills.
Free Fire was named "Esports Mobile Game of the Year" by the Esports Awards 2021 for the second year in a row as the Finals of the Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore (FFWS 2021 SG) hit a peak of 5.4 million concurrent online viewers, which is the highest peak viewership of any esports match in history.
